How Do I Play Videos From Aliyun Drive (阿里云盘)?

Add Aliyun Drive when your videos are stored there. Stream asks you to authorize the account, then you choose folders and scan them. Browsing and playback need a network connection to Aliyun Drive.

Before You Begin

Authorize Aliyun Drive

  1. Open File Source.
  2. Choose Add File Source, then select Aliyun Drive under Cloud Drive. On the upcoming Android TV app (coming soon), TV setup will offer Cloud drives, then Aliyun Drive.
  3. When the Aliyun Drive app is on the device, Stream opens it so you can approve access.
  4. When that app is not available, Stream shows an Aliyun Drive Authorization QR code. The hint asks you to scan it with a device that is signed in to Aliyun Drive. After the scan, confirm the authorization on that device.

Stream reports the QR status while you wait: "Waiting for scan…", then "Scanned. Confirm authorization on the other device.", then "Authorization successful".

The QR code can expire. When it does, Stream shows "QR code expired". Choose Refresh QR Code and scan the new code. Cancel and start Aliyun Drive again if authorization fails. The failure message is "Aliyun Drive authorization failed".

Browse and Scan

After authorization, Stream opens the drive. Browse to the folders that contain movies or TV shows and select them. During first-time setup, choose Add and scan. When you add the drive later, check a folder and confirm Add File Source. Stream scans the folders you select.

Open a scanned title and press Play. Keep a network connection to Aliyun Drive while you browse or play. For filenames that match the wrong title, use the file naming guide or Edit Metadata.

Supported Scope

Stream browses folders from the Aliyun Drive account you authorized and plays supported video from the folders you select.

Common Problems

Privacy and Authorization

Stream keeps the authorization needed to browse the drive you approved. Authorization tokens are not included in Google Drive sync. Google Drive sync is a settings backup of source and library configuration. It is not a Google Drive video source.
